How to Discount an Item in MeeD POS
Item Discount reduces the price of a specific selected item without affecting other items in the bill. Ideal for items with a per-item promotion — a free drink with a set purchase, or an item that needs a special price on its own. MeeD POS supports 2 discount forms: percentage and fixed amount, with a preview of the post-discount price before confirming.
How to Use It
Add Items to the Cart and Tap 'Discount' on That Item
Add the items you want to the cart, then tap the "Discount" button at the bottom of the cart (next to "Hold Bill"), and tap the specific item in the cart you want to discount. The system opens a "Special Discount" popup for that item.
Choose a Discount Type and Enter the Value
The system shows a "Special Discount" popup for the selected item. Choose the discount form: Percentage — enter the percentage to discount, e.g. 10 means 10% off that item's price; and Fixed Amount — enter the baht amount to deduct from that item's price.
Use the number pad to enter the discount value. The system shows a preview at the bottom of the popup, with the original price, discount amount, and the item's post-discount price.
Confirm the Discount and Add the Item to the Cart
After tapping "Apply Discount", the system opens the "Additional Options" screen for that item, showing an orange "Special Discount" badge (e.g. "10.00%") clearly, with the post-discount price below. Tap "Add to Cart ฿XX" to confirm adding the discounted item to the cart.
Choose a Payment Method and Charge
Tap "Pay" to go to the payment screen — it shows the order total with the item discounts factored in, along with full "Discount (details)" information. Choose a payment method: Cash, Transfer (PromptPay), Credit Card, or Wallet, then enter the amount or tap "Enter Amount (need ฿XX)".
Payment Complete — Print the Receipt
Once payment is complete, the system shows a "Payment Successful" screen with the transaction number and payment method. Tap "Print Receipt" to print a receipt showing the original price and discount on separate lines, or "Done" to start a new bill.

Percentage Discount per Item

Usage Tips
You can discount multiple items at once
Each item can carry a different discount — e.g. coffee 10% off, cake ฿20 off.
Item discounts and bill discounts can be combined
Apply item discounts first, then add a bill discount on top.
Removing an item discount
Tap the item in the cart to open Additional Options, then tap X on the discount badge to remove it.
Item discount history shows up in reports
Track per-item discount totals in the daily and monthly sales reports.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does an item discount affect VAT?
Yes — the system recalculates VAT from the post-discount price, so the bill's VAT amount decreases along with the discount given.
Can I discount the same item more than once?
An item discount is tied to that item's line in the Additional Options popup. To change a discount, remove the item and re-add it with the new discount.
An item already has a discount — can I still add a bill discount?
Yes — the bill discount is calculated from the total after all item discounts, so customers can get a discount on top of a discount.
How does an item discount show up on the receipt?
The receipt shows each discounted item's original price with the discount amount on its own line, so the difference is clear to the customer.
